Greg Kienitz, two time
International Hot Boat Association World Champion of 2004, 2005 & runner
up for the 2006 Season, is building a new race team for the 2007
season. New faster class!
So look out fellow racers, here he comes.
2007 Season is here. The first race is
April 19th-22nd The 24th Annual Lake-fest Nationals@ Phoenix AZ.
1. The first race at Firebird was a learning experience. Moving up from
a 12:00 second class to a 10:00 second class is not an easy task. Greg
and Richard made some major changes to the balance of the boat hoping to
test it before they left, but ran out time. Greg freshened up the
old motor and the team went racing. The changes did work, Greg said it
was like driving a new boat. Once he got use to changes he made the
fastest pass in his class 114. MPH. His best time was a 10.3, he will
work on that. With the new motor Greg will be hard to beat. The team is
happy that Greg is safe and for what we accomplished. And also the Armed
Forces Special Team, wants to thank everyone for the help and support.
2. Red Bluff is always one of the biggest races of the year. Greg gave
it his best! The boat has the power it needs now. We worked on the new
2.4 thru Thursday night, that's racing! We were crossing our fingers and
hoping the new changes would work. The first run was rocky; we over
powered the prop and changed it, then he was on his way. He improved on
each run after that. In the first round he jumped the start by les than
8 thousands of a second. The E.T. was 9.98 seconds and the speed was at
110 MPH. We hope you all had plenty to eat and drink at the BBQ.
3. Chowchilla was a roller coaster ride of emotions in so many ways.
Greg ran great runs all weekend. He made number 1 qualifier with a 10.04, we were
feeling pretty good, because you can't afford to drop your guard against
any of these drivers that are on their game on any day. He worked his
way to the to the quarter finals running against Rick Barretta and to
much air got under the Armed Forces Special and he went over. Greg is
OK, so far no broken bones some cuts and bruises. Greg, Bonny, and the
crew wants to Thank the Rescue team, the helpers at the ramps, all the
wonderful Drivers, and Crew members that helped and gave Love and
Support. WE THANK YOU. And a Special Thanks to Roger & Elizabeth Sayles,
for putting me up and feeding me on Sunday night. (crew dog
Richard) Special Thanks to Ken and Andy from Geeks On Wheels! We will keep you up dated as we know. Today
6/13/07 Greg is coming home. His right leg is really sore along with
other soreness.
Thank You for checking!
Dexter has came and went. Greg, Bonny and the team was hoping to all
make it. Greg needs more time before he can get in a car for 5 or more
hours. Richard was there helping Rick Barretta keeping Greg posted. Greg started
his Physical Therapy this week and is improving as we speak. No pain No
gain. He is off the couch! Greg and Bonny would like to THANK all
the wonderful people that helped, called and sent cards. It helps Greg
with his
healing and gives us all incentive to race on. And also Greg & Bonny
would like to THANK Snarky/Steve Montgomery and Mark McLaughlin for the great shots.
Greg is doing ok his leg is healing. The head injury will take longer.
